How to Buy Glasses Online at America’s Best 

Ordering new prescription eyeglasses with your phone or computer is easier than you may expect.

Did you ever think you’d see the day when you could buy prescription eyeglasses from home? In today’s world, it’s both possible — and simple to do. 

America’s Best online eyeglass catalog allows you to choose and purchase your perfect pair of glasses without a visit to the store. You’ll find options in every shape, color, and price point — and you can even do a virtual try-on to ensure they’re a good fit. 

How does online eyeglass shopping work? To start, you’ll need a current, valid prescription to place an online order. If you saw an optometrist at America’s Best, we have a copy of your prescription in our system and will validate it during checkout. If you saw an optometrist somewhere else, you can provide your doctor’s information during checkout. We’ll contact their office to process the order. 

Below, we walk you through the easy, five-step process to help you select and buy the perfect glasses for your lifestyle.

Step 1: Find Your Frames 

The America’s Best site offers nearly a thousand frame options. If that number feels a bit overwhelming, it shouldn’t. Our digital filters can help you narrow your search to only the options that will work best for you.  

To narrow your search, click the “Glasses” tab on the upper left side of your screen. 

After you do that, a box will appear. You use the information in that box to filter your options by price, shape, material, and more. For example, if you click “Women’s,” the site won’t show you frames that are more suitable for men. If you click “Full Rim,” it won’t display more minimalist semi-rimless glasses.

You can apply more than one filter, allowing you to further limit your options by price, brand, color, material, type, shape, and size. 

Step 2: Create Your Virtual Try-On

Once you’ve found some frames that you like, it’s time to see what they look like on your face. Follow these steps: 

  1. Click the “Create a Virtual Try-On” button on the right side of your screen. It will first show you a diverse group of models who are wearing the frames that interest you. 
  2. Click the “Get Started” button to the right of the featured model. This will open your webcam, which allows the site to photograph your face. You may need to tinker with your computer or phone settings to grant America’s Best permission to access your camera. 
  3. Align your face where indicated and follow the onscreen instructions and prompts.  
  4. Hit the button that says “Go to Try On.” Now, you’ll see an image of how you look in the frames you’ve chosen. If the first pair isn’t to your liking, then move on to the next pair and see how those look. 
  5. Click on the “Add to Cart” button on the right once you found your ideal frames.

Step 3. Choose Your Lenses 

Now that you’ve chosen your frames, you can now start making lens selections. You start that process by using the on-screen prompts to fill out the requested information about your age and prescription.

Then, continue to follow the on-screen prompts to select these different lens options

  • Lens type (single vision, bifocal, progressive multifocal) 
  • Material (standard plastic, polycarbonate, hi-index) 
  • Tinting (if desired) 
  • Coating (if desired)

Then hit the “Continue to Next Step” button. 

Step 4: Review Your Glasses 

We want to make sure you get exactly what you want, so look over all of your selections carefully before you hit the “Checkout” button. You can make changes later, but it’s always easier when you order and receive exactly what you want in the first place. 

Step 5: Check Out 

To finalize the process, we’ll need some of your personal details. Fill in your contact information, shipping address, and method of payment.  

If you’re an Eyecare Club member, you’ll receive 10% off any order of glasses or contacts. The membership includes two free exams per year for three years.  

To have your new glasses sent to you, you can choose from these two shipping options: 

  • FREE Standard Shipping: 3 to 4 business days + processing time 
  • Expedited Shipping: 1 to 2 business days + processing time 

Once you’ve checked out, it takes one to two business days to process your glasses order before shipping. You’ll receive an email confirmation with your order number. Then, we’ll validate your prescription. When your glasses are on their way, we’ll send a shipping confirmation email.

FAQs About Ordering Glasses Online From America’s Best 

Q: Can I use a voucher or coupon when I buy online?  

A: No, we do not accept vouchers or coupons online at this time. 

Q: Do you accept vision insurance online?  

A: America’s Best does not accept vision insurance as payment for online orders. We provide a receipt that can be submitted to your insurance company as an out-of-network purchase. Consult with your insurance provider before placing your order to determine whether they reimburse or have limits for out-of-network purchases. 

Q: Can I use my FSA or HSA funds for online purchases? 

A: Yes. Eyewear is an allowable expense for either type of pretax health account. Learn more here.  

Q: What do I do if I need to return the glasses I ordered?
