America’s Smiliest Role Model
For 15 years David Bush has run Madd (Making a Direct Difference) Poets Society Inc., an organization in Toledo, Ohio that helps youth express their opinions and talents with the use of spoken word, poetry, rap and many other aspects of the arts. This program initially started with helping one student and has now reached more than 700. David’s organization boasts a 100% graduation rate for its high school students, thanks to his leadership. David leads by example and is not only looking to create great students, but also create leaders, and great men and women of our future. One of David’s nominators explains that David’s passion for the arts inspires others around him to do great things – things that they may not have even imagined doing before.
David will receive a Rickey Smiley Eyewear Prize Pack (two pairs of Rickey Smiley Eyeglasses, with frames, single vision plastic lenses and eye exam, a $104.95 value) and a $2,000 donation to the cause of his choice!
